The Center of Palestinian Narrative and Memory is a cultural hub and digital museum documenting the Palestinian struggle and history of the land and people through digital media. Hosted in an old soap factory in Nablus - Palestine, the center aims to be a pillar of the local community and make its content accessible to audiences everywhere.
To achieve that it combines a physical experience (where content can be accessed through interactive screens), with an online one (where people outside of Palestine or youth in other districts can access the content on their own phones). Designing the experience of the center to accommodate both the media (memory) and text (narrative) aspects of the center's concept, in collaboration with Iris, the tech and development partner in this project, we designed a double-screen system that the center can customize across screens to highlight historical photos, videos, and documentaries, stories, and maps across the history of Palestine.

From strategy to brand look, the branding focused on rooting the center in its community and helping it connect to them. The center's brand is inspired by the embroidery on the Palestinian Kufyieh, the national headdress, and a symbol of the culture. The embroidery has 3 elements that each tell a story of the past: the fishing nets, the olive leaves, and the trade routes. These tell their own story of the heritage and the brand utilizes them in a more modern format and more youthful colors, employing them to continue carrying the memories and narratives of the Palestinian people.
